Default Two New Garden Crop Mods

Huge Vegetable Mod
The usual plant tonic has a slight chance of growing a giant crop and a slim chance of killing your plant. Because the chance of giant crops is so low, many Sims players have never actually gotten to experience the giant crops. But they're fun! Everyone should get to grow them at least once.

So I've hacked the garden plot to give you a 99% chance of growing a giant crop when you use the plant tonic (and a zero percent chance of killing your plant). As you can see from the picture above, the giant tomatoes, carrots and lettuce are very obvious, but the giant green beans don't look like much. The inventory pictures and names are different, too. You can grow Tremendous Tomatoes, Colossal Carrots, Large Lettuce, and Giant Green Beans.

Remember that if you want to sell your giant crops, you sell them by clicking on Gardener Bob himself, not on the vegetable display. Also, plant tonic only gives giant crops for a single growing; the continuing crops, like tomatoes and green beans, won't grow giant crops a second time after you harvest the giant crop the tonic gave you. So if you want giant crops again, you'll need to give them a new dose of tonic. This isn't anything I've done; it's a normal feature of the game.

Buy Multiple Plant Tonics at Once
If you buy garden tonic from Gardener Bob, he sells you one at a time. That's fine if you just want to try a jar of tonic, but if your sims are trying to make a living by growing crops, buying one at a time takes a very long time! It's also true that sometimes Gardener Bob is out doing things in the back, so your sim has to chase him down. So I've made it possible to buy 5 or 10 tonics at a time from the seed display.

The sim buys directly from the display and doesn't go to the cash register. There's also a slight discount for buying in bulk.

You can get these mods at http://corylea.com/CropModsForTheSims1.html. Be sure to follow the installation instructions; these do NOT go in the Downloads folder.

Have fun!
