Decorative version of Garage door ? [Solved - Don't need them anymore - Thanks a lot! ]
Hi, I came from the Mentoring for Builders group where I asked if it was possible to change the current TS2 Garage Doors into Decorative objects in order to give the illusion of garages in the foundations of an appartment lot. They told me to ask here, if this (3D, not just wallpapers) decorative version of the garage door was, maybe, already existing somwhere (And if it's not, if it's possible for me to create it)
Here's the black version of the Garage door that I want to have in decorative objects (Sorry, I'm French so my game is also in French, but if I translate the name of it it should be... "Garage door OpenMe")
Edit : By the way, here's my original post on the Mentoring for Builders group : http://modthesims.info/showthread.p...060#post5282060

As long as you don't put driveway pieces with it then the garage door will just be a decorative object. Just use the normal door and if it won't let you place it then use moveobjects on. You don't need it to be in a working spot if you only want it as decor.

@Charity ; I tried to delete the driveway pieces as you said but the only fact that there were garage doors in the foundations gave me the "Invalid terrain" error message when I tried to write the "changelotzoning apartmentbase" cheat, I also tried to place them with moveObjects on & boolProp SnapObjectstoGrid false, but it didn't work either. That's why I think that I need to change the category of this specific garage door from built mode to buy mod -> Decoratives -> Miscellaneous, or find this 3D model in this category if it does exist in order to finally make it works (I hope so).

Ah I see. I didn't realise that it would throw errors. The only garage doors I've seen on apartment lots are ones that are working and linked to the apartment. Sorry, I don't know of any purely decorative ones.

I haven't tried these myself, but Moon_Ez made some garage doors that I assume are decorative because they predate the release of Nightlife in September of 2005. They're near the bottom of this page of search results ("The Real Garage Door" - there are five of them in the list).
http://www.modthesims.info/browse.p...tag=garage&gs=1
All of Moon_Ez's garage doors appear to require Numenor's WallWindows glass set.
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=70222
There are also some "garage doors" on that list that are actually wallpapers to paint fake garage doors onto a building. They're very old though, so the textures may not be up to modern standards. (The ones that say "No EP required" and the last three at the very bottom of the list.)
Thanks to Crmelsimlover for sharing these rare Christianlov mods for TS2: Cpack editor with working face DNA fixer and Skin Selector Painting Prototype. Instructions for adding custom skins to Skin Selector at post #5 here. Instructions for using the DNA fixer at post # 2662 here.

Hi there, thanks to @HugeLunatic I was able to finally make it works without any "invalid terrain" message or "0 apartment" problem! Thanks to that, I don't need 3D Model decorative garage doors anymore. Thanks for everyone who gave me some links and who tried to help me out~ ♥
So, I just put the invisible fence that I have mentioned in my original post (http://modthesims.info/d/179868) not in front of all the Garage doors but BEHIND them in order to put them outside of each apartments!
(Oh and by the way, one of the apartment have a little secret door in order to hide a part of their life that they don't want anyone else to know about. My idea here was to give, for 2 of my Sims, a secret training area and office for their Spies careers)
