Trait or Career?

Date Posted: 12th Jun 2018 at 3:52 PM

Hey everyone! I'm going to be returning to the site very shortly, so I will be able to fix any bugs that have occurred with the latest update!

I was wondering for my next post, should I focus on a career or more traits? I would like to see what you guys think. x

Happy Simming!

Hi everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to post anything recently, it’s currently exam season for me at the moment, so unfortunately I have had to prioritise and take a break. However they’re almost over which means I’ll be able to fix any Last Exception issues and make some more mods!

:lovestruc Thank you all for baring with me! :lovestruc

Creating Occasional Buffs

Date Posted: 3rd Mar 2018 at 10:48 PM

I've noticed that some people have found it difficult to create Occasional Buffs with Zerbu's Mod Constructor 3, so I'm going to give a quick breakdown on how to do it

~ First of all if you haven't already created a Continuous Loot then you should do that first (See my earlier entry if you're not sure how.)
~ Under Occasional Events click on Add and click on the random number generated.
~ Fill out the boxes as you would with a normal Buff, but under Test Conditions go to Test Condition Type -> Trait.

~ Under Required Traits, click on Add, Select the Manual Reference and in the box that appears choose Select Element.
~ Select the name of your trait and that's it!

~ You can also change the chance the Buff will appear, just drag the chance bar to whatever percentage you want.

This was just a small post so If anyone was confused I hope this helps!

Creating Traits

Date Posted: 22nd Feb 2018 at 10:30 PM

Two weeks ago someone asked me if I could make a tutorial for custom traits, but as Zerbu has already made a detailed one on his website I decided not to. However I have decided to give a quick explanation of how I make them via his Mod Constructor (Version 3).

~ The first thing you do is type in the name of your mod and click on Create Mod.
~ Next go to Select Element -> Create Element.
~ Type in the name of your Trait again, select Trait from the menu and Create Element.

~ You should now see the General Tab. Here you fill out the details about your trait, such as the age groups, name, the description that appears in Create-A-Sim, the icon and the trait category.
~ At the bottom there's tab that says Core Buffs. Here click Add and then go to Element Tree and select Build Tree.

~ A section called Buff should now appear. In this tab go to Continuous Loots under Features, Add Continuous Loot Controller -> Add and click on the generated letters/numbers.
~ You can choose whether the buff will be active or timed. Under Test Conditions (Only One Must Pass), select Add, click on the generated numbers and click Add under the next Text Conditions box.
~ You can now choose how the Buff triggers. The usual route is Running Interactions. In the Interactions box you can choose what causes the buff to trigger, for example, A Gamer trait buff is triggered by sims playing video games.
~ Once you have done this you can name your Buff and choose which emotion it triggers, and how long it lasts for.

~ Now go to Select Mod -> Export and save into your Mods folder, and the trait should be working!

There are other features such as proximity buffs which trigger for Sims when they are around the sim with the active trait, and you can choose how quickly skills and career performance increases but I'll leave it at this unless anyone else wants me to explain.

More Traits Coming!

Date Posted: 14th Feb 2018 at 6:26 PM

:lovestruc Hi everyone! So I've been on this website for almost 10 years and I have never created anything myself, but recently I've decided to start making custom traits for the game! A few I currently have in mind are based off old traits that no longer work with the latest update and were never updated themselves. If anyone has specific traits they'd like to see in the game then left me know and I'll see if I can create one! :lovestruc

Also some users have been asking me how I make custom traits, when I create mine I'm using Zerbu's Mod Constructor V3 for it and there is a detailed step by step tutorial on there how do to it!

Finally, thanks to everyone who's liked, Favorited and downloaded my first trait! Hapy Simming!
