Hi!
I’m very happy to announce that my very first custom career is finally done: The Architecture Career!

This is a conversion from the Sims 2, though I’ve made some tiny changes, for example changed ‘head of the construction company’ to ‘head of the construction team’ as I found it very unrealistic to earn this little as the leader of a whole company. Other than this, I only changed some of the working times, because I wanted my sims to have a bit more free time after work.
This career is located at the business & journalism rabbithole.

What you will need:
Other than this career file which goes into your mods folder you will definitely need to download Nraas’ Career Mod (you can get it here: https://www.nraas.net/community/Careers)
Otherwise it won’t work.

Tanslations:
So far, this mod is available in English and German only, as those are the only languages I feel confident enough to translate. For all other languages, this mod will by default be shown in English. If you wish to contribute your translation you can download the ‘Architecture Career Translation File’ you’ll find in the download section, translate and send it back to me.

Patch Compatibility:
I made this career using patch 1.67 so this level and above should work fine. I cannot say what will happen if your patch level is below 1-67, though.
This should be base game compatible, though.

Tones:
Apart from the usual tones (Meet colleagues, suck up to boss etc.) I have included two custom tones:
- Draw sketches (will improve the painting skill)
- Play SimCity (will improve the logic skill)

Architecture is both the process and the product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings or any other structures. Architectural works in the form of buildings are often perceived as cultural symbols and as works of art. So, are you ready to make some history?

Overview of the levels:

1. Cement Mixer - §22/hour - Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
Not exactly the most glorious job in the world, but someone needs to mix the cement. This entry level job requires no real skills other than a little attention to keep going to a job where you mix cement all day long.

2. Bricklayer - §25/hour - Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
You've moved off the factory floor and onto lots where actual homes are being built! Doing your small part to help erect structures both residential and commercial, laying bricks and spreading that goop to make them stick together is only a bit tougher than mixing cement. Learn enough about bricks, though, and you might just get to supervise other people doing it.

3. Foreman - §35/hour - Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
Finally in charge of more than just yourself, you've made foreman of the construction team! Your initiative has been noticed. Now put a little logic behind that mechanical knowledge of yours and someone might actually mistake you for an architect.

4. Head of the Construction Team - §59/hour - Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri
You've mastered cement, bricks, and various steel bars. You've led small teams into construction emergencies and made them work. Now you've got the ultimate high-level view of building buildings as the head of the construction team. Show some good leadership skills and work on your creativity and those lofty architects might suddenly take an interest in you.

5. Architect’s Apprentice - §75/hour - Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri
Construction is for chumps. You've made it inside the walls of the architecture firm, standing beside or more often, behind your mentor, who is going to teach you everything you need to know about how to design beautiful, beautiful buildings. Oh, and can you get him some coffee?

6. Draftsman - §87/hour - Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri
You've finally got your own desk and own drafting table, tilted at the perfect angle, with straightedges and writing implements galore. Now's your opportunity to show that you can take an abstract building design, and through a series of straight lines, turn it into a blueprint. Keep building all the skills that got you here and you'll be a certified architect in no time!

7. Architect - §140/hour - Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun
You've made it. The firm has given you all the necessary credentials to be an architect anyplace in the world, and you're well on your way to getting your first building built. A little extra creativity is just what the architectural world needs right now.

8. Architectural Partner - §160/hour - Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun
Wow. You made partner. The firm is now partially under your guiding hand, and a little bit of business knowledge will go a long way. Work on making good logical decisions and don't forget your construction roots. It's not just about making buildings. It's about making them great.

9. Master Architect - §328/hour - Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun
You're a living legend, and when people pass by the houses and offices you've designed, they know they're in the presence of greatness. Keep reaching for the sky with more and more creative ventures and the world will be your oyster shaped opera house.

10. City Planner - §340/hour - Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun
An entire city is at your disposal and the decisions you make affect thousands of Sims. Where should the hospital go? What style of houses best fit this residential district? We need more parks! The questions and demands of the populace fall to you, dear city planner. Answer them. Meet
them. This is what you were meant to do.

Opportunities:
So far, there are no opportunities included, as it seems really hard to implement those. But maybe I will figure it out in the future and update this career.

I wanna thank Creon who made the awesome tutorial I followed to create this, and without the tipps of missyhissy and ThomasRiordan in the Q&A page, it wouldn't have been possible! You guys seriously are the best.
