I am soooooo bad at sticking to a building budget. Just participated in the March starter speedbuild (thank you, @Sparklypotato !) and had a really great time. Had a couple of ideas I couldn't get in there, what with the budgetary and time limits, so I decided to take another whack at it without being so worried about keeping it under §20K. And so I didn't worry at all, and so it's §33,988. Not great for a cash-strapped, first-gen sim's starter home, but after loading up on some of that sweet Dean's List swag in UNI it shouldn't be too out of reach for a new adult... Or maybe it's a second home? An adulthood upgrade for a sim (or two!) to enjoy before babies start showing up. Alternately it would make a nice retirement space for an elder who's ready to put her kids' kids' bottles and diaper changes behind her, move out of the multi-generational homestead, and have a place of her own again.

So, Cumberland Cottage! Modern, casual comfort in a studio home. Eclectic decorating touches lend personality while still leaving some room for your sims to add some flair of their own (advertising/realtor speak for "some walls and windows left free for more curtains and wall art"). Moderate landscaping for a 2x2 lot. The open floorplan helps this smallish place feel roomier, especially the dining area with its solarium windows and sliding glass door. That back door opens onto a small patio area where your sims can grill, play some outdoor chess, gaze at the heavens, chill in a hammock, or whatever else floats their little plumbobs. Pet bed and dish included.

Built with everything; needs everything. Not every single SP, but yeah. You probably know the drill. Checked and saved with Clean Installer.

// I'm heading overseas to see the family, so this'll be my last upload for a few weeks. Halfway through several more rooms to finish when I get back, including more Lilac and even some old Claybee sets I still wanna do. Y'all take care, and I'll see you in May! //

Lot Size: 2x2
