OVERVIEW
This is a part-time version of the base game's Painter career, with 3 extra branches added. Tracks:
PART-TIME PAINTER CAREER
Inspire your fellow Sims by introducing more art into their lives. Whether you do so through art creation, collection, critique, or even therapy – you will surely make your town happier and prettier.
Level 1: Palette Cleaner The job may not seem prestigious… but, without you, the artists’ colours would all turn grey.
Level 2: Art Book Collator Although your art may not be ready for the art books, in this job you will decide whose art will be featured prominently… and whose will be relegated to the back pages.
Level 3: Hungry Artist You cannot become a successful artist without first surviving this phase. Try to get through it with your dignity intact.
Level 4: Watercolor Dabbler Your first popular pieces are watercolour. They may not sell for much, but it’s a start!
Level 5: Canvas Creator Acrylics are harder to master than watercolours. If you market your pieces as "experimental," maybe someone will be intrigued enough to buy one.
Level 6: Imaginative Imagist You are now able to paint basic landscapes and portraits, with an original twist. Your name is slowly becoming well-known in the art world.
Track 1: Master of the Real
Your painting skills are respectable, but will your work be remembered throughout the ages? Perfect your technique in your chosen style, and watch the demand for, and value of, your pieces continue to rise. One day, maybe it will be your paintings hanging on the museum's walls!
Level 7: Artist en Residence A fancy artists’ residency has invited you to join their community of painters in a secluded, distraction-free environment.
Level 8: Professional Painter Buyers know your name; auctions want to sell your work; and you have a solo exhibit coming up… you are on your way to the top!
Level 9: Illustrious Illustrator Your talent is in high demand. On top of painting, you are working on many different projects, from book illustration to animated cinema.
Level 10: Master of the Real Your work hangs in the most distinguished museums and sells at sky-high prices. You will be remembered as one of the greats!
Track 2: Patron of the Arts
Enter the high-class world of art patronage. Your budding collection will soon become the most sought-after in town, and you will determine which artists become famous by deciding whom to take under your wing. Museums will look to you for support -- in return, you may find a plaque with your name on it adorning their walls.
Level 7: Color Theory Critic You have twin talents: creating your own artwork, and criticising other artists’ technique.
Level 8: Fine-Art Aficionado You roam the galleries collecting the most inspiring pieces. Your opinions are becoming sought-after in the art world.
Level 9: Composition Curator Museums hire you to design their exhibits. You get to decide which artists to showcase and how to create a magical experience for visitors.
Level 10: Patron of the Arts You are one of the most important collectors in the art world. Museums want to borrow your collection and auctions rely on you to determine how much pieces are worth.
Track 3: Art Critic
Your sharp eye spares no one and your tastes are impeccable. Artists will fear you, galleries will obey you, and buyers will revere you. Your opinion will be in high demand, and crowds will gather breathlessly as you ponder a new piece, desperately anticipating your thumbs up or down. Enjoy the power to make or break artists' careers!
Level 7: Snooty Pundit No one asked for your opinion on postimpressionist nature morte, but you are going to explain it to everyone you meet anyway.
Level 8: Refined Reviewer Is that all-white painting museum-worthy, or just a blank canvas? You get to decide!
Level 9: Syndicated Superstar Thumbs up or thumbs down? Sims are relying on you to let them know what they should think!
Level 10: Grand Steward of the Arts Your refined artistic eye is the number-one authority in your local art scene. You have to power to make or break artists’ careers.
Track 4: Forgery Artist
The art of forgery requires a discerning eye and a careful technique. Trick those so-called art experts by recreating paintings indistinguishable from the originals. Your faux masterpieces will command sky-high prices – but you can also choose to sell at reasonable prices and make great art available to everyone, not just the super-rich.
Level 7: Apprentice Counterfeiter You are a student of the fine art of forgery. It’s harder than it looks to copy an artist’s colour scheme and technique.
Level 8: Cartoon Counterfeiter Copying a white canvas with a single blue stripe is not too difficult, as long as you get the colours right.
Level 9: Signature Sneak You are now able to copy most styles of painting. Enjoy fooling even the most distinguished art critics!
Level 10: Master Forger Your counterfeits of even the most detailed realism paintings are indistinguishable from the originals. Have fun undermining the snobbery of the art world!
Track 5: Art Therapy
Art actually does have healing power! Art therapy can help to manage emotions, control behaviours, express trauma, and cope with negative events. Improve your fellow Sims' well-being through creativity and artistic expression. Your services may be in higher demand than you think -- your town might need a new clinic, directed by you!
Level 7: Graduate Student in Art Therapy Turns out, art therapy has nothing to do with adult colouring books. Learn how to help people heal through art.
Level 8: Creative Art Therapist Whether working at hospitals or schools, you help Sims manage their stress, emotions, or behaviours by creating art.
Level 9: Expressive Art Therapist Your job is delicate, but it can be crucial to effective treatment. You help Sims express inexplicable trauma in art form, and you enable young children communicate artistically when they can't do so verbally.
Level 10: Art Therapy Clinic Director Your services are in high demand - so you decided to open your own clinic! You are making your entire town happier, healthier, and prettier.
